Emporium

The Emporium is designated as Disneyland's primary shopping center. Located on the southwest corner of Main Street it is also the last "store" seen by guest who are heading out the exits at night. This makes the Emporium a busy place. It is usually open until one hour after Official Park closing.

The Emporium has been around since the beginning. And although it has gone through some major expansions and refurbishments, the basic purpose and Atmosphere of the Emporium has changed very little.

Because of the Emporium's basic location and versatility many Cast Members will send you to the Emporium of you are looking for a specific piece of Merchandise. Many of Disneyland's more specifics merchandise is located here... such as the official albums, calendars, and clothing. If the Cast Members in the Emporium can not locate or find what you are looking for in their own store... they can point you in the right direction.

The theme of the Emporium is an old 1900's department store. Rarely does the casual visitor notice this, as they are too busy shopping. If you look up you may even see some displays, which depict scenes from this era.

The Emporium as well as all of Disneyland usually goes under a transformation whenever a new Disney animated feature is released. Although one can expect the transition of merchandise between the old movie and the new the Emporium has another tradition which goes a step further. On the five windows of the storefront which round the corner of the street window displays are set up to depict scenes from the movie. These dioramas are sometimes very elaborate and are always fun to look at.
