Main Street Christmas

When December rolls around to Disneyland, Main Street is magically transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with lights and garland.

Main Street’s holiday décor is directly reflective of the Christmas celebrations, which were popular in small town America during the turn of the century. Carolers line the streets singing an assortment of Christmas and wintertime melodies and the bakery busily bakes those winter goodies while emitting a smell of peppermint. And thanks to a little 20th century magic, snowflakes dance on the streets.

Town Square gets all decked out with the centerpiece of the Christmas Season, the Disneyland Christmas Tree. The tree is usually cut and shipped from the Pacific Northwest and stands over 50 feet tall. At the base of the tree, Santa greets the awaiting children while pine scent is pumped out into the tree.

During the Christmas season the traditional loop of ragtime music that plays on Main Street is replaced by slow and soothing holiday tunes.
