Redlands, California
Location: San Bernardino County
(52 Miles Northeast of Disneyland)
Founded: 1888

Redlands is the typical citrus boomtown of turn of the century California. At the heart of the surrounding orange groves (which are becoming more scarce), is a beautiful downtown with those tree lined sidewalks and friendly shops that Walt envisioned for his own Main Street.

Running off Redlands Blvd in downtown is State Street. State Street is the closest thing to Main Street Redlands has, with it’s narrow (one way) street, small sidewalks, an assortment of shops and restaurants (including a bank), and even a small little park.

Besides the commercial State Street, Redlands has several old Victorian houses (some nestled amongst acres of orange groves) and a rich cultural history.

Pedestrian-Oriented Downtown

Experience a traditional American city, with bustling main street & side streets, weekly outdoor market night, and annual community festivals and parades. Stroll and shop amid historic buildings, attractive storefronts, brick walks, tree-lined streets, park benches, old-fashioned street lights, fountains and a quaint city park that serves as a focal point for musicians, artists, and community activities. All combined to provide a hometown atmosphere the entire family will enjoy.

Two miles outside of town is a landmark, which completes the turn of the century theme of Redlands. The historic Kimberly Crest House, a Victorian era mansion built on the edge of an orange grove.

The house, which is open for tours, has a wonderful history behind it and is a marvel to look at.
