Disneyland Resort Food Review

Any food review is by definition subjective. My favorites may not correspond with your favorites, and what I hate may be something you love. Now might be a good time to stress that I am in no way associated with the Walt Disney Company at this time - this is an "unofficial" food review.

Having said that, I intend to provide my personal favorite foods at Disneyland, but I may also discuss some popular items that I feel don't measure up to their reputations.

If you'd like to write a food review for this page, please email me and I'll start a section on guest reviews.

Entrees

Chicken Fusilli. Found at Redd Rockett's, this dish is expensive but worth it. And it's guaranteed to fill you up.

Jambalaya. You could get this at the Blue Bayou, but it costs more there. Better off at the French Market lunchtime menu. This hot spicy dish simply cannot be beaten!

Desserts

Dole Pineapple Whip. Need I say more? Everyone has sampled this at one point or another, and it remains a great treat for me.

Frozen Yogurt. Blue Ribbon Bakery introduced Disneyland to frozen yogurt, which now has its home in the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor. It's not spectacular, but I like frozen yogurt in any form.

Beverages

VooDoo Brew Slushies. Found at the little-known and seldom-open La Petite Patisserie, these slushies are good stuff. Too bad they're non-alcoholic.

Mint Julep. Many people find this drink to be a necessity for any trip to Disneyland, while others find that it tastes like a sweet version of mouthwash. Personally, I don't care for it too much. Please note: the Mint Julep is not, and never has been, offered at the Royal Street Veranda. You can get it at the Mint Julep Bar.

Snacks

Cajun Popcorn Shrimp. My absolute favorite food at Disneyland is the popcorn shrimp, with extra spicy sauce, found at the Harbour Galley. I used to enjoy the Spicy Seafood Potato Skins at the Galley, but they have sadly been discontinued.

Hot & Spicy Beef Skewers. A close second on my list of delicious food, the beef skewers are flaming-pepper-hot! My mouth waters just thinking about them.

New Orleans Fritter. Why do some people go crazy over this food? I suppose I used to enjoy them, but after working with them I can assure you that they positively drip with grease. Drop one, and grease goes everywhere. Grease and sugar. Not a palatable mix.

Best Values

Any Fast Food Combo. Found everywhere, these values don't save you all that much money - you save an average of maybe 30 cents versus buying each item "a la carte." They do offer convenience and fast ordering, and are tailored for people with an economy budget.

Big Thunder Ribs/Chicken Combo. The real best value overall in Disneyland is expensive on the surface, but you get so much for it. In addition to the massive quantities of food, this is truly great stuff! I'm partial to the pork ribs, but not everybody is. The large combination is maybe $15 at dinner.

Nick and Amber spent some time going into a more extensive food review, so if you're "hungry" for more info by all means stop by their site
