LMA Finale

These days, the finale jump in Lights, Motors, Action looks like this:

But I seem to remember much more of a fireball. In fact, it once looked like this:

Assuming this isn't just a case of unfortunate timing in the photos, what has changed? I have a guess. Wasn't there an injury or two in the past year? Could the toning down of the fire be a side-effect of those injuries? Did they tone down the show?

Sometimes all the effects just don't go off.

That last stunt is one of the most dangerous of the show. Cars that hit that ramp to jump across the moat must hit it dead on or risk hitting the wall on the other side. This exact thing happened early in the show's run.

Yeah, that could easily be normal variation in the show that I happened to catch. I'm simply not at this show often enough to know for sure. But it did catch my eye after the fact, when I looked at the photos.

I have a family friend who (I don't really know his offical title) but works at Indiana Jones & LMA as some kind of high-up position with the pyrotechnics and stuff. He said that someone was burnt pretty badly a few months ago, so perhaps they were told to tone down some of the stunts or the pyro use.. I could be totally wrong though haha, but I feel like this makes sense

I think you just caught a performance in which one or more effects weren't initiated. I was there a little over a week ago and have some great shots of that car outrunning an impressive fireball.
