Green Meadows petting zoo
It only gets busy around here during holiday periods, though, so if you’re coming away from that point, you should do much better. That said, if it’s a hot part of the year (aka, most of the calendar in
And there’s always that flight restriction. Airlines and customs always wants to know if you’ve been on a farm in the last 90 days. With this visit, you’ll have to answer YES, so think carefully.
But if you can get past all that, and the somewhat expensive cost, this farm is reasonably cute for kids the right age. The train is poky and slow, but fun. The playgrounds are not elaborate, but let kids burn off energy. The animals are not prize-winning, but they are pretty darn varied. Where else can you personally milk a cow? Catch a chicken? Pet a duckling and a soft chick?

Green Meadows is great! Try it again when a) you don't have a child too young to enjoy it, and b) much less crowded. That train thing was ridiculous. As was the pony ride thing.
And I don't think you "have to" follow the guided tour. You're free to wander after it's over, so why not just break off from the group early? That just means no actual petting. I liked having the guide because you actually knew something about what you were looking at.

This is completely a money making no interest in family vacation business. The hayride was a joke. The train was about the same and the lady who greeted us and took our money was actually rude. She allowed each child to touch the cow for 1 pull of milk. No rain checks will be issued! It rains every afternoon here and $84.00 for four people is way too much. Our tour guide was nice and did a good job of working with the kids. The kids enjoyed it but it isn't worth the money. Take the kids to a zoo instead. 07/07/08
we have been to Green Meadows twice and both times it was wonderful! Great for children and relaxing. We took our daughter at ages 3 and 5. She loved it both times. we found them nice, informative, and we weren't forced to miss out on a thing.what you are told if a group is partly around to catch up to them, and when they are done, you continue on and finish the first parts you missed. (you are just starting at a different point, and ending at a different spot)
they have old tractors for the kids to climb on and pretend to drive, a firetruck to play on, a fun playground complete with a sandbox, trucks, toys, swings, climbing. you learn about the animals, get to pet them, feed them, catch some, hold baby chicks and ducks, beautiful peacocks roam th farm, there is a pony ride, train, and hayride. I am allergic to hay so did not ride, my husband said it was not much. (but my daughter liked it... remember this is a place for the children!!)
the price compared to other activities in the area is very affordable, and a relaxing time.
