The further restaurant in Boardwalk from Epcot, Big River Brewery just doesn’t fill up as quickly as Spoodles or ESPN Club. Even during the daylight hours, when most folks are at the parks, this location will draw enough people to make for a minor wait. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.
We found service to be exactly mediocre: neither particularly slow nor particularly fast. Drink refills could have been faster, but that was neither extreme nor seemingly a pattern for other tables.
Though they are famous for beer sampler, we opted instead to have comfort food. The sirloin burger ($9), Mahi Mahi sandwich ($12), and pulled pork sandwich ($9) were all just about mediocre. The fish sandwich was on the dry side, and not particularly flavorful. The sirloin burger went over well at the time, but seemed to have led to nausea later. Only the pulled pork sandwich was an unqualified hit. On the whole, the food was not good enough to entice us back.
The indoor dining room is a bit tight, leading to a slightly cramped atmosphere. It can get a bit noisy, too. Outdoors is more pleasant, so long as the weather cooperates. The restaurant is not quite waterside (there being a boardwalk in between), but it’s close enough to provide ambiance and a cooling effect from the water. Because of its status as a brewery, the restaurant attracts a clientele that skews toward adults, especially young adults. Children aren’t a rare sight here, but neither is it apparently the first choice for many families.
