One of the most reliable quick-service locations in World Showase, the Yakitori House delivers dependable food (if you like Japanese cuisine) at an affordable price point. There are usually lines, but they are also usually manageable. It sits high atop the artificial hill in the pavilion.
We sampled the garden salad with ginger dressing ($3), which took a plain iceberg-and-carrots salad and made it remarkable with the fresh ginger sauce. The sushi roll ($7) was pleasing to see; it tasted quite a bit like a California roll but with fish (salmon?) eggs. A plate of beef curry on rice ($7) was a bit plain by contrast, but it made up for it with strong flavor. The curry is spicier and richer than most people are used to. We also had a combination plate ($7.50) that included chicken teriyaki (merely adequate, with a too-weak tomato sauce), sukiyaki thin-sliced shredded beef (highly flavorful and heavy on the soy sauce), and shrimp tempura served over rice. The tempura sounds gradiose but is really a disc of conglomerated ingredients (perhaps one or two very small shrimp) and isn't very large. But by and large, the meal was well worth its cost.
Cramped indoor seating is available, but the crowds usually force us to the outdoor patio instead, with a relaxing waterfall nearby. We found service to be quick and friendly, with no complaints about the staff or the cleanliness of the tables.
