Sequested at the back of the Caribbean Beach Club in Old Port Royale, the food court doesn't draw that big a crowd, even for dinner. It's the type of food court that allows you to visit multiple food stations before paying at a centralized cashier area, and this kind of "scramble service" can lead to problems, chief among them what happens when one station is delayed but you wanted to pay for everything together. The inevitable result is cold food congealing on the tray, and sure enough that happened to us (the culprit was the salmon).

The salmon ($8) was worth the wait in terms of flavor and freshness; I've had meals costing twice this much at table-service restaurants in Disney World that barely managed to match the taste. The roast turkey ($9) was deemed great by my wife, but I was far less impressed. Both dishes came with side items such as creamed spinach, corn, red mashed potatoes, or rice, oddly tossed with seeds and small vegetables. All were serviceable, and a bit typical for food court dishes, though the rice was intriguing and I couldn't bear to leave any of it. Our four year old had pasta marinana, complete with meatball, and this packed a surprising amount of taste into a small package - another kid's meal winner.

The drink cell allows for unlimited refills, even for people who bought a soda in a wax cup direct from the cashier (there's another option for visitors staying at the resort; they can buy a permanent mug that can be refilled on the entire vacation for free). And the theming in the room is great; you really feel like it's in Key West, or some too-clean idealization thereof, anyway. Not bad for a counter service meal in price and value, and avoiding the crowds made for a stress-free evening as well.
