Reasonably accessable from Epcot's World Showcase exit, or by touring the lagoon in the Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk area, the Yacht Club Galley boasts plenty of open tables, a menu reminiscent of an upscale coffee shop, and prices you'd expect along those lines. A solid choice for lunch out of the parks.
We tried the buffalo chicken tenders appetizer ($7) and found it spicy, delicious, but also served in a too-small portion; it may not be worth the money. The chili and cheese ($6), served with a generous portion of lime and salt tortilla chips, was heavily jalepeno in character and well worth its price; leftover chili could be mixed with fries from entree plates easily enough.
One of the best values on the menu is the soup (clam chowder or soup of the day) served with a full-sized sandwich, either tuna or shrimp ($12). The clam chowder was thin and runny, and not altogether salty enough. But there were loads of clams in it. Our soup of the day was corn chowder with pepperjack, and it was wonderfully rich and zesty. The tuna sandwiches, served on a croissant, are filling and satisfying, though nothing remarkable. Even less interesting was the shrimp and crab sandwich ($14), which had no excuse for being as taste-free as ours was. You'd think the chipotle tartar sauce would make a mark, but you'd be wrong. Similarly, the club sandwich ($10) was passable and not the world's worst, but also no experience unto itself. The same cannot be said for the reuben sandwich ($10), which served up lean meat hot, fresh, and delicious. It was the winner on our table.
The place hums with activity and there's always noise. A couple seeking privacy and a family with screaming kids would find themselves equally at home in this place, at least during the lunch hours. No reservations seem necessary here during the mid part of the day, a definite bonus that will lure us back. The refills were dreadfully slow, and service was otherwise not very attentive.
