For quick-service food that is dependably good and different enough from the standard American fast-food to satisfy your need for exotica while on vacation, it's hard to beat Tangierine Café. It has ample seating, but does not boast A/C or heaters, presumably as a nod to Moroccan culture. Also, it seldom has a long line, even on the busiest of days.

The child's chicken tenders ($7) were surprisingly good, and not the standard tenders you can find around the Disney parks. This is because the Tangierine Café, like several eateries in Epcot, is run by an outside vendor, and uses its own recipes.

The lamb, freshly carved from a rotating spit, can be served in sandwiches, on pita bread, or on a plate with side orders like tabbouleh, hummus, and couscous. We found the combo plate of chicken and lamb ($14) to be a good value and included all the sides. The lamb and chicken are both carved and both capture the flavor of the roasting process. The lamb has a slightly more exotic flavor, one I find excellent at this establishment. Combined with the red onions, fresh bread, and sour cream sauce, it makes for a delightful meal that also satisfies completely. Alas, the meatball platter is disappointing and pedestrian. It was mostly yellow rice, with five lonely meatballs and some thin sauce. That might have been acceptable had the meat been good, but it was bland and uninteresting. The sticky baklava pastry ($2.50) was expensive as an add-on to the entree, but it was also pretty good. Sporting a dry cinnamon-pecan flavor, it was surprisingly rich.

Low-level instrumental music plays overhead, but the chatter inside may prevent you from hearing any of it. It's not the sort of place you'd want to linger anyway, without climate control. But as a refueling stop in your Epcot travel, this one is a definite winner.
