The primary advantage this food court has going for it is its enormous size. There are boatloads of seats and tables, all air-conditioned, and that led to a need for a large food court to serve all those people. It's "scramble style", meaning there is a central bank of cashiers. Frequent Disney visitors will be interested to know there's a 20% discount for Disney Dining Experience cardholders.

The fish basket ($8) is really just three fried fish filets, like you'd find in fish and chips. These are "Disney fries," though, not thick steak fries. It's about as good as you'll get in the theme parks, like at Columbia Harbour House. The Salad Your Way ($8) offers the chance to build your own ingredients, done by telling the Cast Member what to include one item at a time, and topped with chicken. We tried it with raspberry vinaigrette, which was light on the vinegar and very sweet. The greens, a spring mix, were crisp and the chicken was moist, but the salad could have used sun-dried tomatoes. Overall, it was a delicious light alternative to a sandwich. The turkey sandwich ($7) came on a large wedge loaf and was somewhat average in terms of the meat (it was processed, not turkey breast). The sandwich was spicy, though, since there was a lot of spicy brown mustard smeared on it. The muffaletta sandwich ($8) was oddly not the same kind of muffaletta available at the other Port Orleans food court, the Sassagoula Floatworks in the French Quarter. There, a real muffaletta loaf is used; here, a wedge load that is drier and far less tasty. The same salty olive paste is used that the Floatworks uses, but that's the only similarity. The meat was still tasty, but overall, something was missing. It came with a side pasta salad that had mostly celery and pepper for flavoring. The child's chicken nugget meal was about the same you could get anywhere on property.

A few things on the menu look promising, but are only available for dinner: pasta and the carving station. Lunch is mostly fried foods (burgers, chicken, pizza) and a smaller variety. Having the Dining Experience accepted does make the prices quite reasonable.

The service was not noticeably slow or fast. Lunch is reasonably uncrowded, so speed may be an issue during the more crowded breakfast or dinner hours.

One really nice thing in the area is the water wheel just outside the dining area, visible from a whole wall of windows. This wheel turns gears and wooden shafts right here in the dining area, but the real attraction is the sheer size of the water wheel - it must be at least 30 feet high. That makes for a kinetic view while eating in comfort just inside, and a pleasing environment.
