Leaning Palms is the largest eatery at Typhoon Lagoon, but that's not saying much: most of the locations here are quick-service windows, without even a seating area. Leaning Palms has a couple of minor outdoor seating areas that are somewhat cramped and, while shaded, offer no relief from the heat and humidity (if you want air conditioning, you'll need to find the shop near the entrance to the park).

The food, though, is better than you'd expect at a place like this. This restaurant has the greatest variety at the park - most of the other places have less imaginative dishes. For instance, there's a child meal ($5) consisting of a cheese sandwich using pretzel instead of bread, and it comes with a good variety of choices for the side item, and even a free bucket and shovel tossed in, for your child to play in the sand.

For adults, the BBQ pork sandwich ($7.50) comes with fries and features tasty shredded pork identical to what you'll find at Flame Tree BBQ. Like that DAK sandwich, this one is a bit dry, however. The chili dog ($7) comes with diced onions standard, and you can opt for apple slices rather than French fries.

We found service to be good on this visit, but it's a fair assumption that a visit closer to the lunch hour would be busier and thus slower. The insufficient number of tables and the lack of controlled-temperature seating work against this eatery, and lowers the overall experience.
