Prominently located at the convergence of Frontierland and Caribbean Plaza (Adventureland), Pecos Bill's Tall Tales Café attracts crowds at most hours of the day.

Though mass-produced, the BBQ pork sandwich ($8) actually contains flavor, which was a bit of a surprise considering other BBQ sandwiches on Disney property. However, it only contains its default sauce and then the standard dipping BBQ sauce on the toppings bar, so you don't have sauce choices, which is the whole point to Southern BBQ. It does come with a side of baked beans, which was well-suited.

The taco salad ($7) was surprisingly large, and contained an astonishing amount of beef - perhaps half the salad, in our case. It was so well-drained that the meat felt dry, and thus may not have all the flavor you sometimes associate with taco salads, though I quite liked it. It comes with sour creme, and salsa is available on the toppings bar. The chili cheese fries ($4) provided generous portions of all three ingredients, which is fortunate, since the toppings bar no longer offers free nacho cheese due to visitor abuse.

We admittedly visited in the height of the dinner crush, but lines were astonishingly long, service was vanishingly slow, and managers stood around instead of helping out. Worse yet, the dining areas were completely full and yet the bussing staff had insanely roped off the upstairs dining area. They are either lazy or stupid, but either way, this is Guest unfriendly.

The rooms are air-conditioned and indoors, so in winter you'll be warm and in summer you'll be cool, making this a nice place to visit. In off-peak hours, it's a nice place to just sit and relax and catch your breath. When enough dining tables are opened, that is.
