Central Florida Zoo

There's a fairly uninteresting carousel nearby, but it's the miniature electric train which draws the eye, here passing full-size cars.

The "tunnel," though, is really just an undecorated house. Apparently it serves as the roundhouse too. Ultimately, this train disappoints.

Old-fashioned wax figurine automats create a real "old-time" feel to this park. Almost a regional feel. However, it's a gorgeous park!

The intimacy is further rounded out by a relatively small layout, uncrowded wooden walkways for most every section, and even personalized sponsorship planks in the boards below.

The Herpetarium offers not only snakes and reptiles, but one of the only air-conditioned escapes from the heat.

Around the backside of the zoo, in an area otherwise characterized only by its flora, visitors will encounter this creepy apatosaurus. It looked to me like an extra-terrarestrial version of a dinosaur.

Elephants are only part of the attraction. You'll also find cheetahs, tigers, crocodiles, and dozens of other animals.

Back at the gift shop, don't forget to seek out this disturbing drinking fountain.
